Phobos
pine, red dogwood, leather, embroidery thread, milk paint, walnut oil
February 2026

I've been terrified of shrimps, lobsters, crabs, and all crustaceans since I was a wee boy. I decided to make this freaky little shrimp so as to participate in some crafty exposure therapy.
This gangly creature is fully articulated and clacks as he moves. His tail, antennae, and bulging eyeballs are attached by a tightly-fitted leather cord, and his legs are hollow dogwood stems laced with embroidery thread.

I hope he entertains you as much as he terrifies me.
